Nursing is more than a career—it’s a calling. At Virginia State University, our Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program is designed to prepare you for a rewarding role in the healthcare field, where you’ll make a real difference in patients’ lives.

Whether you’re entering nursing for the first time or looking to advance your current career, VSU’s BSN program offers the support, resources, and training you need to succeed.

How it Works:

This program takes your real life into account. Courses are fully online and taught by faculty specially-trained in online instruction.

In this five-semester, part-time curriculum, you’ll complete two three-credit hour courses every semester—one course every eight weeks— totaling six credits per semester.  This allows you to continue your full-time role as a nurse and graduate with a BSN in 2.5 years.

What You’ll Learn:

This program combines evidence-based theory, hands-on clinical practice, and leadership training to prepare you for challenges and opportunities of modern nursing. With a special focus on inclusive healthcare practices in urban and rural settings, this program will prepare you to provide safe and effective patient-centered care.

As a BSN student, you’ll learn from experienced nursing professionals dedicated to your success. The curriculum is designed to help you develop criticial thinking, patient care, and communication skills that will set you apart in this competitive field. Plus, you’ll graduate ready to take the NCLEX exam and begin your journey as a licensed registered nurse.
